UCI Gavin Herbert Eye Institute and the Department of Ophthalmology offer an elective to introduce third- and fourth-year medical students to the clinical diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders, as well as to the subspecialties of retina, glaucoma, pediatrics, neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastics, uveitis and cornea.

Residency

UCI Gavin Herbert Eye Institute’s ophthalmology residency program offers intensive, wide-ranging clinical and surgical experience, as well as opportunities to conduct meaningful research.

Fellowships

UCI Gavin Herbert Eye Institute and Department of Ophthalmology offers fellowship training to well-qualified physicians in the subspecialties of cornea, glaucoma and retina. These selective programs emphasize both clinical training and research.
