Overview
At UCI Health Gavin Herbert Eye Institute, we are proud to offer a special discounted program for patients who wish to undergo laser vision correction (either LASIK or PRK) that is performed by our advanced cornea/anterior-segment fellows under the direct supervision of our faculty. This provides an excellent value opportunity for qualified patients, while contributing to the educational mission of our Institute.

Who is eligible?

• You must be a candidate for either LASIK or PRK (determined by pre-operative screening, including corneal topography, pachymetry, refraction, ocular surface evaluation, etc.).

• You agree to have the procedure performed by a cornea/anterior-segment fellow (i.e., a physician who has completed ophthalmology residency and is in our fellowship in cornea/anterior segment/ocular surface surgery) under direct faculty supervision.

• You understand that the supervising faculty surgeon will oversee the procedure and manage the pre- and post-operative care, including enhancements or complications, as needed.

• Standard pre-operative evaluation, surgical risks/benefits discussion, and post-operative follow-up apply as with all our refractive surgery patients.

Procedure types & discount structure
Below is the current discounted fee schedule, per eye. If both eyes are treated, double the amount listed. Fees subject to change without prior notice.

(Note: Enhancements, retreatments, or treatment of complications will be performed by a fellow or faculty surgeon at no additional fee if the initial discounted procedure is selected but may require follow-up visits or diagnostic tests at standard clinic charges.)
